Client brief:
Kerb appeal! A simply elegant house on The Avenue needed an equally elegant front garden design to enhance the kerb appeal. Blending timeless charm with thoughtful garden design, created in collaboration with clients and the Garden Webb landscaping team.
Aged coniferous evergreens once dominated the space, preventing my clients from fully enjoying their home’s frontage and limiting its visual appeal. Removing these overgrown trees transformed the garden, making way for a fresh, inviting design that complements the double-fronted detached house beautifully. The new layout combines classic materials with modern functionality, creating a welcoming and stylish entrance.
A wide, comfortable path now leads directly from the front door, constructed using Caledonian pebbles secured by a honeycomb stabilisation system. This natural surface enhances drainage while maintaining a clean, crisp look that integrates seamlessly with the overall aesthetic. Grey clay pavers frame the symmetry on the ground, reinforcing the garden’s structured elegance and inviting visitors to explore the space.
A contemporary take on the classic white picket fence encloses the front garden, adding both character and definition to the property. This refined boundary creates a sense of enclosure without obstructing views, allowing the planting to take centre stage. The planting scheme features classic Yew hedging, which introduces structure, depth, and a sense of maturity to the design.
Carefully chosen materials and a well-balanced layout ensure the garden remains visually striking throughout the seasons with minimal maintenance required. This design transforms the front of the house, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary elegance. The final result is a timeless and welcoming space that enhances the home’s overall character.
