The Triangular Garden

Client brief:
Our clients wanted to transform their triangular new-build plot into a sleek, modern garden for entertaining.
They asked for al fresco dining space, an informal seating area, and room for children to play freely.
The design needed a clean, contemporary look that felt warm, welcoming, and practical for everyday use.

This was an exciting project to design. The unusual triangular shape created both challenges and opportunities.
We focused on making the garden feel balanced by leading the eye away from the awkward angles.
Attention was drawn to the centre, helping create a more unified and spacious design.

To add structure, we used engineering bricks to define the lawn and emphasise a contemporary feel.
The tightest corner was transformed with a striking grey composite deck and a large feature Acer tree.
This addition provided height, colour, and an eye-catching focal point for the space.

Two porcelain-paved terraces were created: one for outdoor dining and one for relaxed lounging.
Stepping stone paving was set into the lawn, guiding movement and connecting the two main terraces.

We also added four bespoke rendered planters. These brought structure, symmetry, and practical raised beds.
They offered easy-care planting areas, ideal for clients wanting a beautiful planting scheme that doesn’t overwhelm.

The result is a modern, versatile garden for entertaining, relaxing, and everday family life.
With lighting added by clients, the garden transforms beautifully for summer evenings.
