Planting design in Walthamstow

Clients’ brief:

My clients wanted design input for front and back gardens. The hard standing elements were already in place and the garden needed an over-arching planting scheme to bring all the beautiful materials to life. I had a broad colour palette to play with as my clients loved lots of bright, vivid colours. I added steel lawn edging strips, which works very well the colour scheme. It is always good to incorporate any existing trees in a garden and I recommended remedial pruning and care of the three existing fruit trees.

Privacy from neighbour’s eyelines is often a factor, especially in town gardens where neighbours are in close proximity. The planting design included lots of beautiful tactile plants with texture and plants that will bring colour across the seasons. We planted some very beautiful ornamental trees, not only attractive to wildlife but also beautiful in form and to the eye. The mahogony coloured bark of Prunus serrula ‘Tibetica’ is a magnificant tree and to be celebrated, we planted close to the patio so that it could be enjoyed close up.
