About Judi Samuels

A bit about me and my design work..

In May 2018 I became a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers and I aim to become a fully registered member.

I studied planting and garden design at Capel Manor College in 2009.  Having definitely learnt the most in my clients gardens. I have been designing and developing gardens for 4 years now, from my North Hertfordshire home where I am surrounded by farmland and hedgerows, a great inspiration.

I have designed medium to large family gardens, courtyard gardens, contemporary gardens, cottage gardens and coastal gardens. My portfolio includes concept garden design and I am currently developing ideas for a charity garden.

Working with clients to help them bring to life their wishes for their gardens is what I am about. By using my design, listening skills and plants knowledge I can help bring to life the garden you have longed for, but don’t know how to create. Providing support and coordination through each step of the garden project.

Pinterest is a great sharing tool for design and material ideas. I also hand draw concept sketches to help you visualise the key elements within the garden design, which includes the initial ideas for plants, trees and hard landscaping materials. Working closely with suppliers and contractors to bring the best materials into a project. I think it’s important to set realistic budget limitations and I’m mindful of this throughout.

In my earlier life I studied contemporary dance at the Laban Centre and the London Contemporary Dance School and went on to teach and choreograph for regional theatres and adult education.

The spirit of dance is still in my bones and I often joke with clients that I have gone from choreographing people to plants..!
