Client brief:

Client’s and the lovely Dachshund ‘Basil’, want us to redesign their back garden because one of their must-haves is a dog friendly planting scheme. Because this is Basil’s garden! Clients want to extend their living room space out through the tri-fold doors to the garden. My clients had their hearts set on a Millboard composite deck to recreate this space. I wanted to design a deck with long flowing curves, so using Millboard’s flexible edging, allowed me to. We also designed and installed a beautiful beach garden which we now call Basil’s garden. Paved with a combination of ornamental pebbles, cobbles and porcelain planks. The planting scheme includes large Mediterranean foliage plants. It is the perfect spot for a small bistro table and chairs with a morning coffee.

The porcelain planks created a more naturalist coastal feel, which we enhanced by adding vertical oak beams to add climbing plants and string lighting. Porcelain plank paving really enhanced the sleek sophisticated beach look and these porcelain planks really do add a ‘wow’ factor. The porcelain planks are from the ‘Albero’ range, colour ‘Silvered’ supplied by The Rockery Centre in Sandy, manufactured by Global Stone. We created a design with a composite Millboard deck, creating a seamless flow from the living room.

The ‘Terrazza’ steel framed veranda installed directly onto the deck to create shelter from weather; sun and rain to make the garden so much more usable.

Basil, loves being outside in the garden strolling across the pebbles and mingling with the ornamental grasses. You can see just how curious Basil is on my Youtube channel.
